Syd Danziger BS, MSW Candidate

Syd (they/them/theirs/ella) is a second-year MSW student at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work. Syd maintains authenticity as they facilitate a warm, honest, and collaborative space where individuals can feel empowered to explore vulnerability, self-discovery, and healing. Their practice is grounded in trauma-informed and client-centered approaches, working hard to meet clients where they’re at. Syd is currently training in EMDR.

Syd brings a colorful background that includes training in multiple forms of Experiential Therapy. In recent years, they have worked both in Outdoor Experiential Therapy with teenagers struggling with trauma and depression and as an Outdoor Play Facilitator for young children aged 18 months to 5 years old.

Syd additionally has a deep understanding of the connection between grief and trauma and was able to expand this understanding through their recent work in hospice care. They appreciate the way grief weaves its way through day-to-day life and trauma alike, and make sure to practice grief-informed therapy.

Syd is an avid plant mom and loves to cook dishes on a whim and feed their wonderful community of friends and family. If you ever need french toast or banana bread, or advice for your houseplant’s care, they are the one to call!

Syd holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Outdoor Leadership and Education from Elon University.
