Jessica grew up as a first-generation Latina, she understands how the cultural values and traditions can shape who we are and impact the way we navigate through life. Her passion for mental health started when her mother was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Shortly after, she realized the stigma that revolved around mental health and the lack of mental health education among the Latino community. As a bilingual therapist it is her mission to support the community she grew up in, validate your experiences, and support you along your healing journey.
Jessica obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from California State University of San Marcos in 2017. After completing her B.A., she worked in several different settings that revolved around children from suicide prevention to after school enrichment programs. In 2019, she moved to CO from CA and pursued her Master’s in Social Work. She graduated in May of 2022 from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Throughout her grad school career, she had the opportunity to work in equine therapy and at a behavioral health hospital with high-risk adults (IOP/PHP). After graduating, she joined Denver Health where she engaged with a diverse population and interacted with families during high crisis situations. All these experiences led her to Blue Channel Therapy. Jessica is excited to be part of this team and build a connection with individuals in a therapeutic setting using EMDR.She is trained in EMDR.
